Instilling a Love for Foreign Languages
At Blue Bird Nursery, we love languages! Although our language of instruction is English, our aim is to expose children to foreign languages as early as possible.
This is how learning a second language at a young age can benefit your child:
Did you know?
Children who learn another language before age five (school age) use the same part of the brain to acquire that second language that they use to learn their mother tongue. Younger learners (children under the age of five) are also uninhibited by the fear of making mistakes, which is sometimes an obstacle for older beginners.
Researchers say that when you are young, you acquire language, rather than having to learn it. This is why we strongly believe that introducing children to languages (Arabic and French) at an early age is important. As a result, we have developed a fun and interactive language program where children learn languages through play. We can’t wait for your little one to experience it!
Research also shows that learning a second language boosts critical-thinking, problem-solving, and listening skills, in addition to improving concentration, memory, and the ability to multitask. Children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility.
